
Masha Lakisova
About me
Praised for her “sensitive musicianship and communication” (The Strad), Masha
Lakisova has distinguished herself as one of the unique voices of her generation. Masha enjoys a varied career as a soloist and chamber musician, performing in venues across the United States and Europe.

As a soloist, Masha has appeared with orchestras worldwide and has taken top prizes at the Stulberg, Klein, and Tibor Junior International Competitions. Most recently, she won the World’s Biggest Stage Competition and the New England Conservatory Brahms Concerto Competition.
Complementing her solo career, Masha has fostered a passion for collaborative music making since her formative years. Her past string quartets won three medals at the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition. She has also had the privilege of performing chamber music and other substantial repertoire with some of her greatest role models such as Miriam Fried, Itzhak Perlman, Vadim Gluzman, Ilya Kaler, and the Borromeo and Ariel Quartets.

Apart from studying and performing during the concert season, Masha has enjoyedher recent summers at the Marlboro Music Festival, the Ravinia Steans MusicInstitute, and the Four Seasons Chamber Music Festival. Past summer festivalappearances include the Perlman Music Program Chamber Music Workshop, theNorfolk Chamber Music Festival, and the North Shore Chamber Music Festival,where she became the first recipient of the Arkady Fomin Scholarship.
She has previously studied with Grigory Kalinovsky, Itzhak Perlman, and Li Lin, and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree at the New England Conservatory, where she studies with Miriam Fried. Masha is passionate about fostering a deep love and appreciate for music in the next generation and currently serves as Violin Faculty and Chamber Music Faculty at the New England Conservatory Preparatory School.

Miss Lakisova is the proud recipient of a magnificent violin by Giovanni Francesco Pressenda, Turin, 1845 on loan from The Stradivari Society of Chicago thanks to the generosity of her patron, Edward Manzo.
